Echipa de voluntari a anului! – The best team of the year
Apparently, my colleagues and I are finalists as Volunteers’ Team of the Year. That’s cool but I didn’t need the Volunteers’ Gala to tell me. I knew that already! I’ve been working and living in Schiuleşti with these guys for 6 months, so I know what I’m talking about.
If life were like the starting menu of a videogame, they would be the characters I would pick to build my perfect team. What’s amazing is that I didn’t choose any of them, I just happened to find them in my house.
Se pare că eu și colegii mei suntem finaliști la categoria Echipa de Voluntari a Anului, la Gala Natională a Voluntarilor. Ceea ce e super mișto, doar că nu aveam nevoie de Gală ca să îmi spună asta. Știam deja! Lucrez și locuiesc în Schiulești cu acești oameni de șase luni deja, așa că știu despre ce vorbesc.
Dacă ei ar fi parte dintr-un meniu de start al unui joc video, ei ar fi personajele pe care le-aș alege pentru a construi echipa perfectă. Ceea ce e mai minunat e că nu i-am ales, ci s-a întâmplat să îi găsesc în casă.

Working in a team is hard and I feel extremely lucky to have these guys with me. My advice to make it work is to learn to accept that nothing is ever going to be as you imagined it in your head. As Roman would say: “Open your mind, open your heart, just be happy!” and things will turn out okay.
Să lucrezi într-o echipă e greu și mă simt foarte norocoasă să am acești oameni alături de mine. Sfatul meu pentru a face ca totul să funcționeze e să accepți că nu totul va fi vreodată exact așa cum îți imaginezi. După cum Roman ar spune: “Deschide-ți mintea, deschideși sufletul, fii fericit!” și lucrurile vor merge bine.

Mâncare, mâncare și mai multă mâncare! – Food, food and more food!
Mâncarea aici e minunată! Cumva, reușesc să mânânc continuu de când am venit în România. Desigur, am luat în greutate, dar merită. Locuitorii comunei Izvoarele, în mod special tănticile pe care le-am vizitat, sunt generoase și ne invită constant pe noi voluntarii SEV la masă ori să încercăm câte o rețetă mai specială. Din când în când am mers la Clubul Seniorilor, iar acolo ori de câte ori este o zi de naștere a vreunui membru, fac petrecere și asta înseamnă că va fi mâncare.
Câteodată mă simt ca un musafir, dar alte dăți mă simt ca o nepoată străină ori ca o tanti mai tânără! De când sunt aici am încercat multe feluri de mâncăruri, dar favoritele mele sunt sarmale cu mămăliguță și zacusca.
The food here is great! Somehow, I am managing to eat all the time since I came to Romania. Obviously, I gained some weight, but it is totally worth it. The inhabitants of Izvoarele, especially our “tantis”, are generous and they keep inviting us, the EVSs, to eat with them in their homes and to try their recipes. Also, from time to time, I attend the Clubul Seniorilor (Seniors Club), so whenever there is a birthday of one of the members, they celebrate a party, and that means that there will be plenty of food.
Sometimes I feel like “musafir” (guest), but other times I feel like I am their foreign granddaughter or that even I am a younger “tanti”! Since I came here, I tried a lot of food, but my favorites are sarmale cu mamaliguța and zacuscă.
Sarmalele sunt făcute din carne de porc, ceapă, orez, varză, supă și condimente (și arată ca niște pachețele de primăvară); și sunt acompaniate de mămăligă, care e făcută din făină. Ador gustul acestei mâncări și odată am reușit să mânânc 7 sarmale odată.
The sarmale cu mamaliguța is made of pork meat, onions, rice, cabbage, broth and spices (and it looks like a spring roll); and accompanied with mamaliga, that is made out of corn. I really love the taste of this dish, and once I even managed to eat 7 sarmale rolls.
Cealaltă mâncare este zacuscă. Sunt numeroase feluri de a o face, dar favorita mea este cu vinete. Ingredientele principale sunt vinetele, ceapa, roșii, morcovi, ardei roșii și condimente. E foarte ușor să mănânci zacuscă zilnic, doar întinde-o pe pâine și mănâncă-o.
The other traditional dish is the zacuscă. There are several ways of making it, but my favorite is the one made of eggplants. The main ingredients are eggplants, onions, tomatoes, carrots, red peppers, and spices. It is really easy to eat zacuscă all day, just spread it on bread and eat it!

How to lose a cow (in three easy steps) – Cum să pierzi o vacă (în trei pași simpli)
Step #1: Milk the cow
It’s 8 in the morning in Izvoarele. Kristina, Zenaida (our favourite Romanian anthropology student) and I are on our way to tanti Păpuşa’s house. The “tantis” are local aunties that we have been visiting in order to learn about traditional activities in the village for our project Izvoarele Unveiled. This particular tanti is a skilled carpet-maker and also the owner of a cow. Kristina is very excited about meeting the cow today.
Tanti Păpuşa lets us wear her cow-milking uniform – a big apron and crocs – but in spite of being fully equipped we are still pretty bad at it. The cow is not used to being touched by us and is probably a little nervous, says Păpuşa.
Step #2: Lose the cow
Next step is taking the cow to the pasture. Once we get there, however, the field is empty. Weird. The cow seems upset and so is Kristina, who is now her best friend. Meanwhile, up the road comes a herd of goats. While Păpuşa asks the goat-boy to call his colleague the cow-boy to ask why he is not in the usual place, his dogs start barking after the cow and scare her away. Huh-oh. Luckily, the cow doesn’t go too far and we are pretty confident we will catch her in no time. After all, it’s not like cows are fast runners or anything like that, right?
WRONG.
Step #3: Keep calm and trust your tanti
The cow is too fast and too smart for us to catch her. We start despairing a little, especially as the locals have been talking about a bear in the forest nearby. But tanti Păpuşa is dealing with the situation like a boss, keeping a stoic attitude and looking for a trail in the grass. We have no idea where we are going but the tanti seems to know what she’s doing and we trust her. Eventually, we meet the cow on a road where we’ve never been before. She recognizes her mistress and lets her lead the way to the pasture. Disaster averted! Finally we can relax and wait for our cart ride home.
Pasul #1: Mulsul vacii
E 8 dimineața în Izvoarele. Kristina, Zenaida (studentul nostru favorit român la antropologie) și eu suntem pe drum spre casa lu’ tanti Păpușa. Aceste tanti sunt localnice pe care le-am vizitat pentru a descoperi mai multe despre activitățile tradiționale ale satului pentru proiectul nostru Izvoarele Unveiled. Această tanti este foarte pricepută la țesutul covoarelor și mai are și o vacă. Kristina este super încântată să întâlnească vaca, azi.
Tanti Păpușa ne lasă să purtăm uniforma ei de muls vaca – un capot mare și crocși – însă chiar dacă suntem echipați tot nu ne pricepem. Vaca nu e obișnuită să fie atinsă de noi și este probabil agitată, zice Păpușa.
Pasul #2 Pierdutul vacii
Pasul următor este dusul vacii la pășune. Odată ajunși acolo, câmpul e gol. Ciudat. Vaca pare supărată, la fel și Kristina care a devenit acum prietena ei cea mai bună. Între timp, pe drum vine o turmă de capre. În timp ce Păpușa îi cere căprarului să îl cheme pe colegul său văcar care nu e la locul obișnuit, câinii căprarului încep să latre la vacă și să o sperie. Huh-oh. Din fericire vaca nu fuge prea departe și suntem siguri că o ajungem imediat. Până la urmă vacile nu sunt cele mai bune alergătoare, nu?
GREȘIT.
Pasul #3: Păstrează-ți calmul și ai încredere în tanti
Vaca e prea rapidă și prea deșteaptă pentru noi să o mai putem prinde. Începem să disperăm puțin, mai ales știind că localnicii vorbeau despre un urs în pădurea din apropiere. Dar tanti Păpușa e stăpână pe situație, păstrează o atitudine stoică și începe să caute urmele prin iarbă. Nu avem nici cea mai vagă idee unde mergem dar tanti pare să știe ce face așa că ne încredem în ea. În cele din urmă găsim vaca pe un drum pe care nu mai fusesem înainte. Își recunoaște stăpâna și se lasă condusă la pășune. Dezastru evitat! În sfârșit ne putem relaxa și aștepta căruța să ne întoarcem acasă.

My favorite place – Locul meu preferat
During the 2 months I visited many places but especially Brașov it was a nice place, I visited it with other EVS volunteers and our mentor Tromppy. Also we visited city Ploiești. The city is located 56 km north of Bucharest, there are many cultural and architectural monuments and you can see the Clock Museum or Oil Museum and also Art museum of Ploiești. Typical for the city are its communist buildings and also why we always visit this city is for the big shopping center. Also during On-Arrival Training I visited Bucharest, which has an amazing atmosphere and there is a lot of sightseeing.
But I spend most of my time in the village of Izvoarele, which has the amazing atmosphere because of the people who live there. On the streets, you can see a lot of cats, dogs, cows and especially horses with a trailers. Most horses pull hay or wood from the forest. Sometimes it’s crazy on the way home when we’re on the road and the cows are blocking us.
It’s hard to write what the best of all I’ve ever visited in Romania because I can say that Romania is really a beautiful country.
Locul meu preferat.
În cele două luni petrecute aici am vizitat multe locuri, dar Brașov e un loc minunat, pe care l-am vizitat împreună cu ceilalți voluntari și cu Tromppy, mentorul nostru. De asemenea am vizitat Ploiești, oraș situat la 56 de kilometri nord de București, care găzduiește monumente culturale și arhitecturale precum Muzeul Ceasului, muzeul Petrolului sau muzeul de artă al Ploieștiului. Tipic pentru oraș este arhitectura comunistă, dar un alt motiv pentru care îl vizităm adesea este centrul comercial. Pe lângă aceste orașe am vizitat și Bucureștiul în timpul trainingului de la sosire, oraș cu o atmosferă minunată și cu multe de văzut.
Cea mai mare parte a timpului mi-o petrec la Izvoarele care are o atmosferă minunată datorită oamenilor care locuiesc acolo. Pe ulițe vezi pisici, câini, vaci și căruțe trase de cai. Majoritatea acestor căruțe transportă fân ori lemne din pădure. Iar câteodată când ne întoarcem acasă drumul ne este blocat de câte o cireadă de vaci ce se întoarce de la pășune.
După cum vedeți, e greu să aleg cel mai frumos lucru pe care l-am văzut în România, dar țara în ansamblu este minunată.
But if I should choose, so is village Schiulesti and nature around this place. I love nature and above all mountains. That’s why village Schiulesti. Because when I need to be alone with my thoughts, I disappear from our house, take my own good walking shoes, book, water, biscuits and especially guitar and I try to find the right place to stay. When I find this place, I sit down and look at the beautiful nature and the beautiful view of the whole area of Prahova. Everything is quiet around and I just wonder if its two days or two months since I am in Romania.
I recommend this time for yourself to stop from the chaos of everyday day. Just find time!
Dacă aș fi obligat să aleg, aș alege satul Schiulești și natura ce-l înconjoară. Îmi place natura, munții în mod special. De asta aș alege satul Schiulești. Deoarece atunci când simt nevoia să fiu singur și să îmi ascult gândurile, dispar din casă, îmi iau încălțămintea de plimbare, cartea, apă și biscuiți și chitara și îmi găsesc un loc de stat. Apoi stau, admir peisajele magnifice ale Prahovei. Și cum e liniște așa, mă întreb dacă au trecut două zile, sau două luni de când sunt în România.
Recomand acest timp pentru tine pentru a ne mai opri din când în când din haosul zilnic. Găsiți puțin timp!

Romania in pictures – România în imagini
Hi everybody ! I present my housemates, from Spain, Italy, Czech republic and Argentina, with who I share my daily life. I’m the 4th person, the small blond girl, from France ! Salutare tuturor! Aceștia sunt colegii mei de casă, din Spania, Italia, Cehia și Argentina, cu care îmi împart traiul zilnic. Eu sunt cea de-a patra personă (în fotografie), fata blondă, micuță din Franța. În acest 5 luni de când sunt aici am făzut o mulțime de fotografii și voi împărtăși câteva dintre ele cu voi. Acestea sunt reprezentative pentru viața mea aici. Să vedem 😉

Her name is Fifty Shades of Grey (choosen by the last volunteers) and it’s our dog. She likes to accompany us in the village and the mountains, but mostly bark in the gate of the house to protect it.
Numele eui este Fifty Shades of Grey (așa au numit-o voluntarii anteriori) și e câinele nostru. Îi place să meargă cu noi prin stat și pe munte, dar cel mai adesea latră la poartă ca să ne protejeze.

Or if you want to pass through the moutains, you can use this kind of bridge. They are stronger than they appear, don’t worry ! Even the herd of goats cross them…

A bit further, during my third week in Romania, I discovered this beautiful castle, Peleș Castle, so awesome in the middle of the mountains – Sinaia

And because in Romania, there is also the sea, I went in the seaside, just for a week end to have the impression to be in holidays – Vama Veche

These pictures and others make me feel happy when I watch them. I’m so lucky to be in this lovely area and country, but mostly in Curba de Cultura, with all the amazing people I met.
Pozele acestea și multe altele mă fac fericită că le-a putut imortaliza. Sunt așa norocoasă să fiu în această zonă și această șară, dar mai ales la Curba de Cultură cu oamenii minunați pe care i-am întâlnit.

Nu vorbesc româneşte – I do not speak Romanian
The feeling when people speak Romanian to you – Sentimentul când oamenii îți vorbesc în română
So you are so excited. You arrived in Romania and you are starting your EVS, you spend your time in Curba or with the other volunteers, English may look complicated but you can communicate with them, suddenly you realize you’re thirsty, but you’re lucky, you have a shop just in front of the organization house, you cross the street, enter the shop and… Oh snap, you have no idea of Romanian. Don’t worry, here you have a small guide made by my experience.
Ești super entuziasmat. Ai ajuns în România ți-ai început EVS-ul, petreci timp la Curbă ori cu alți voluntari, limba engleză pare complicată dar puteți comunica și dintr-o dată realizezi că ți-e sete, dar ai noroc, este un magazin chiar peste drum de organizație, traversezi, intri și… oh, nu ai nici cea mai vagă idee despre limba română. Nu te îngrijora ai aici un mic ghid creat din experiența mea proprie.
So, first of all, read the title, that’s now your god. ”Nu vorbesc româneşte” means ”I don’t speak romanian”. Romanian people will understand it, also they will talk with you anyway, maybe closer to you, louder or slower but you still don’t understand them, so next step: Da (which means yes) repeat it, constantly, you don’t understand what they are telling you so you just keep saying da and laugh whenever they laugh, that’s the best trick.
În primul rând, citește titlul, acesta este noul tău dumnezeu. “I do not speak Romanian” înseamnă “Nu vorbesc românește”. Românii vor înțelge, dar vor vorbi mai departe, poate mai aproape de tine, mai tare sau mai rar, și în continuare nu îi vei înețelege, deci trecem la următorul pas: Da, repetă da, constant, nu înțelegi ce îți spun ei așacă spune mai departe da, și râde ori de câte ori ei râd, cel mai bun truc.
If you’re lucky enough and your native language comes from latin also you will have some word that you can understand randomly, when you understand a word, repeat it and say yes with your head, fantastic, you’re having a perfect conversation now.
Dacă ești suficient de norocos și limba ta maternă vine din latină, vei înțelege niște cuvinte pe ici pe colo, când înțelegi un cuvânt, repetă-l și aprobă cu o mișcare a capului, fantastic, ai o conversație minunată acum.
But now back to the begining, you are in the shop, choose wisely, the common brands has the same language in every country, if you are looking for something different you just need to read the name on it, wait till the cashier stop laughing because you probably said something completely unrelated to what you want and then point at whatever you want. Now is the moment to pay, oh yes, plastic money, you forgot it, it’s always nice to use it the first days, you give the products to the cashier and she says to you ”sapteleişicincizecibani” (or something like that) you enter in full panic mode.
Să ne întoarcem, ești la magazin, alegi cu atenție, mărcile faimoase sunt la fel în fiecare țară, dacă cauți ceva diferit, doar citește ce scrie pe ambalaj, așteaptă până vânzătorul se oprește din râs căci probabil ai spus ceva fără legătură și apoi arată cu degetul spre ceea ce îți dorești. The second option is to try your Romanian again ”scrieți prețul, vă rog” (Write the price please) they will show you the calculator and the job is done.
Acum ai două variante, prima: iei o bancnotă la întâmplare o dai vânzătorului, iar dacă mâna e încă întinsă, nu te îngrijora, mai pune bancnote la întâmplare până e ok.
A doua variantă este să îți încerci abilitățile de limbă română din nou ”scrieți prețul, vă rog”, ei îți vor arăta ecranul calculatorului și treaba e gata.
So this is a small guide to help your romanian conversations. The last advice I can give you is to learn the language and that the regular water is ”Apă plată” if you don’t want the sparkly one.

Adventures with the minibus in Izvoarele
Coming from a capital such as Madrid and not having a driving license, it was normal that I was quite concerned about the public transport. But things are different now in Izvoarele. It is a small place, so the public transport is reduced with a strict schedule (and sometimes a bit random). The first thing I asked Sorin was “Where are the public transport schedules and the bus and train stops?”, so he showed me the paper schedule that is in the office.
Venind dintr-o capitală precum Madrid și fără un permis de conducere, era normal să fiu destul de îngrijorată de transportul public. Dar lucrurile sunt diferite în Izvoarele. E un loc mic, prin urmare transportul public este redus și cu un orar strict (dar câteodată la întâmplare). primul lucru pe care l-am întrebat pe Sorin a fost “Unde găsesc orar autobuzelor, precum și stațiile de autobuz și tren?” iar el mi-a arătat orarul lipit pe perete în birou.
The first day that I had to use the public transport was to go from Schiulesti to Curba the Cultura, and it was so confusing for me. Isabella and I were together, so at least we had some fun with our confusion. Estelle drove us until Homoraciu bus stop, and we just had to take one bus to arrive at Curba de Cultura.
În prima zi în care am folosit transportul în comun am mers din Schiulești către Curba de Cultură și a fost puțin confuzant. Eram cu Isabella așa că cel puțin ne-am distrat. Estelle ne-a dus cu mașina până la Homorâciu în stație și de acolo aveam de luat un singur autobuz pentru a ajunge la Curba de Cultură.
We got into the van that said “Valenii de Munte – Maneciu” (also the ones which go to Bucuresti, Ploiesti or Cheia). We saw through the window the Amo Pensiunea, then Curba de Cultura, and when we were approaching the church, our stop, we had a small problem: “How do we get out of the bus?” None of the passengers wanted to get out in Izvoarele stop, so they did not move. “Ok. So… we just passed our stop… now what? There is not a stop button or something?”, and yes, Isabella and I get out of the bus in Maneciu. We were so lost that we even had to call Kristina. Somehow, we managed to get the bus from Maneciu and to get out in Izvoarele. We discover that if you want to get out, you have to stand up inside the van (but sometimes it does not work and the driver passes the stops, somehow we ended up once in Malu Vanat).
Am urcat în microbuz ce avea scris “Valenii de Munte – Maneciu” (același care vine de la București, Ploiești spre Cheia). Am văzut pe geam pensiunea Amo, apoi Curba de Cultură și când ne apropiam de biserică unde e stația, am avut o problemă: “Cum coborâm?” Nici unul dintre pasageri nu cobora acolo, deci nu s-au mișcat. “Ok… așa am ratat coborârea… și acum ce facem? Nu există vreun buton de stop ori ceva?” așa se face că eu și Isabella am coborât în Măneciu. ne pierduserăm așadar am sunat-o pe Kristina. cumva am reușit să luăm alt microbuz din Măneciu și să coborâm la Izvoarele. Am descoperit că pentru a coborî trebuie să te ridici în picioare (dar nici așa nu funcționează întotdeauna și odată am coborât în Malu Vânăt.
But we also met some funny drivers and had funny moments. One of them made a joke on me! I got into the van; showed him my monthly ticket, and then he took it and… made a movement of throwing it through the window!! There is another driver, “our driver” that we almost meet him every time we go by bus. He lives also in Schiulesti, and one day, we were waiting for the bus to return from Curba (and no bus came from the schedule)… I saw him driving the van and raised my hand to stop him; we got inside the van and showed him my ticket, but he rejected it… He was just returning home from his work and took us for free to almost our home! He is really nice!
Însă am întâlnit și șoferi amuzanți și am avut momente amuzante. Unul dintre ei mi-a jucat o farsă! Am urcat în microbuz, i-am arătat abonamentul, l-a luat și s-a prefăcut să îl aruncă pe geam!!! Apoi un alt șofer, “șoferul nostru” pe care îl întâlnim aproape de fiecare dată. El loicuiește de asemenea în Schiulești și într-o bună zi în timp ce așteptam autobuzul să ne întoarcem de la Curbă (nici nu autobuz nu venea conform orarului)… l-am văzut conducând, i-am făcut cu mâna și a oprit. I-am arătat abonamentul dar l-a respins… El doar se întoarcea acasă de la muncă și ne-a dus și pe noi gratuit până aproape acasă! Este foarte drăguț.

When it rains the yard turns into a swimming pool but during summer we spend most of our time outside. Right now we have baby swallows under the roof! They poop a lot, so we have to choose carefully where to sit.
Când plouă curtea noastră se transformă într-o piscină, dar pe timpul verii ne petrecem cel mai mult timp afară. Chiar acum avem pui de rândunele în cuibul de sub acoperiș! Aceștia fac multă mizerie, prin urmare trebuie să alegem cu grijă unde ne așezăm.
The hammock is the best place for naps! One time I fell asleep on the hammock and the others thought I was just a pile of clothes so they got worried because they couldn’t find me anywhere.
Hamacul e cel mai bun loc pentru somnul de după-amiază! O dată am adormit în hamac iar ceilalți au crezut că sunt doar o grămade de haine și s-au îngrijorat când nu m-au putu găsi.
The kitchen is a separate building from the main house. Recently I saw a mouse running around, but it hasn’t pooped everywhere yet, unlike the birds. The joys of country life!
Bucătăria este o clădire separată de casă. Recent am văzut un soarece alergând, dar nu a făcut mizerie nicărieri, încă, spre deosebire de păsări. Bucuriile vieții la țară!
Intercultural decoration in the living room! These flags are from the intercultural event we organized in July in Izvoarele.
În camera de zi am pus decorațiuni interculturale. Aceste steaguri sunt de la evenimentul intercultural organizat în iulie, în Izvoarele.
Alba and I bought some super kitsch wall decoration for our room from the chinesse shop. It’s so fancy, we love it.
Eu și Alba am cumpărat niște decorațiuni super kitchioase pentru pereții camerei noastre de la magazinul chinezesc. Sunt atât de fancy și ne plac atât de mult!
This is the boys’ room. It’s the coldest and smallest of the house. Are they going to die in winter or are they going to kill each other first? 🙂

Estelle‘s got the largest room for herself. She feels a little guilty about it, and she should! It looks so clean because she hid all of her stuff on the bed before I took this picture.
Estelle a primit cea mai mare cameră. Și se simte puțin vinovată pentru asta, și așa și trebuie! Camera arată atât de curată pentru că și-a aruncat toate lucrurile pe pat înainte de a face poză.

Hi, I am Roman and I am 26 years old. I am from Prague, the capital of Czech Republic. I studied marketing communication and media relations at the University of Economy. Before coming to Romania, I worked in an Elementary school as sport “teacher” – football, ping pong and squash. I also worked with non-profit organizations in Czech Republic and I took part in two workcamps – France and Japan.
I love playing guitar, music, sport, traveling and mega super crazy people! 😊 😊
I took the decision of coming to Romania, for one year in an EVS project – ethnographic research in the commune of Izvoarele, project organized by Curba de Cultură, to challenge myself. Now that I am here and I can say it was the right decision. I am look forward to new experiences and people. Also I think I am ready to learn Romanian language and to learn more about Romanian culture.
Salut, eu sunt Roman am 26 de ani și vin din Praga, capitala Cehiei. Am studiat Comunicare în Marketing și Relații Media la Universitatea de Economie. Înainte să vin în România am lucrat la o școală primară ca “profesor” de sport – fotbal, ping-pong și squash. De asemenea am lucrat și cu organizații non-profit în Cehia, dar am luat și parte la două tabere în Franța și Japonia.

Am luat decizia de a venit în România pentru un an într-un proiect SEV – cercetare etnografică în comuna Izvoarele, proiect organizat de Curba de Cultură, pentru a mă provoca pe mine însumi. Acum, că sunt aici pot spune că a fost decizia cea bună. Abia aștept noie experiențe și oameni. În plus, cred că sunt pregătit să învăț română și să învăț mai multe despre cultura românească.

¡Hola! My name is Gabriel, I’m from Argentina and I’m 21 years old. I’ve been living in Spain since 2007 and I’ll be living in Romania for a year doing an EVS. I’m here to know as much as I can about the community of Izvoarele and share it with the World.
I love music, cinema and animation. I’ve studied art and last year I started a grade in Illustration but it wasn’t what I was looking for so when Curba de Cultură contacted me I was pretty sure that this is what I want to do and Izvoarele is the right place for me right now.
Salut! Eu sunt Gabriel, sunt din Argentina și am 21 de ani. Locuiesc în Spania din 2007 și voi sta în România pentru un an în cadrul unui SEV. Mă aflu aici pentru a învăța cât mai multe despre comunitatea din Izvoarele și pentru a împărtăși totul cu întreaga lume.
Am studiat arte, muzică romantică, cinema și animație. În ultimul an am studiat ilustrație dar nu a fost ceea ce îmi doream, prin urmare atunci când Curba de Cultură m-a contactat am fost destul de sigur că asta e ceea ce vreau să fac, iar Izvoarele este locul potrivit pentru mine, acum.
I want to learn as much as I can from this place and this country, is not only about the culture, the traditions, etc… but about the people, their stories and their day to day lifes. I also love the architecture and everything I’ve seen in the six days I’ve been here.
