Call for Slovenian, Portuguese, German and Estonian volunteers
Curba de Cultură is looking for one volunteer from any of the following countries: Slovenia, Germany, Portugal or Estonia for a six months EVS in Izvoarele, a nice and cozy Romanian village.
Curba de Cultură focuses on teenagers and youth development. Our mission is to use non-formal education as a complementary method to the formal educational system for young people. We want to create the premises for a better development of the young people and their more suited integration within their respective communities. We want to make young people aware that they actively belong to their local and national culture.
We are looking for an 18-30 years old volunteer who has:
- motivation to live and work in rural area for 6 months
- motivation to work with youngsters and children
- motivation to do international volunteering
- basic knowledge of English both in writing and speaking
- interest in learning a different European language
The activities the volunteers would do, as part of the team, are:
- interactive activities, lectures, presentations, simulation games, role-plays with children and youngsters in the schools
- visits with pupils to the landfill and selective waste collection centre
- designing with students selective waste trash cans for classrooms
- preparations of the materials for the cans
- assembling and decorating the cans together with students
- organizing treasure hunts and other intercultural events
- writing blogposts and articles
- creating a brochure of the project
- attending trainings (education for environment, event management etc)
- preparing a dissemination event to be done after return to home country
Being an Erasmus+ project the volunteers receive:
- accommodation in a traditional Romanian house (but with wi-fi :P)
- pocket money and budget for food
- bus permits for local transport
- phone sim cards and monthly credit for it
- international travel costs up to 275 EUR for Slovenia, Estonia, Germany and Portugal reimbursed in the end of the stay
- Romanian language classes
- mentor support for personal development and personal learning plans
- coordinator support for implementing activities
- complete medical insurance through Cigna Insurrance Plan
- Youthpass certificate
- two international trainings provided by the Romanian National Agency

Hi there,
My name is Laura and I am from Latvia. In Latvia I live five kilometers away from a small village inhabited by about 4000 people, so this place is perfect for me. I’m 18 years old and I’m a student of “Smiltenes Tehnikums” where I’m studying veterinary assistance. You can already guess that I love animals of every kind. I also like kids, I worked as volunteer in children camps and sometimes I needed to look after my older brothers kids. In my free time I read a lot of books and listen to music. Although I am introvert and shy person I like to meet new people, learn different culture and things.
In Latvia I had a lot of free time in my summer break. Most of the days I spent doing nothing. That’s why instead of losing my time I wanted to go on EVS and learn as much as possible. Curba de Cultura was the one gave me this opportunity.
I’m always ready for new challenges because that’s how we learn. I think that this place is beautiful and in these two months I’m going to try discover as many places as possible. Also I hope that I’m gonna get more open with people and will have many good memories.
Sal’tare, eu sunt Laura și sunt din Letonia. În Letonia locuiesc la 5 kilometri de un mic sat de vreo 4000 de locuitori, prin urmare aici e perfect pentru mine. Am 18 ani și studiez la “Smiltenes Tehnikums” asistență veterinară. Puteți ghici deja că iubesc animalele de tot felul. Îmi plac copiii și am făcut voluntariat în tabere de copii iar câteodată am avut grijă de copii fraților mei. În timpul liber citesc și ascult muzică. Deși sunt introvertită și timidă, îmi place să cunosc alți oameni, să învăț despre alte culturi și lucruri.
În Letonia aveam mult timp în vacanțele de vară. Majoritatea zilelor le petreceam făcând nimic. Ca să nu mai pierd timpul am plecat într-un SEV pentru a învăța mult mai multe. Curba de Cultură mi-a dat această ocazie. Sunt întotdeauna pregătită pentru noi provocări pentru că așa învățăm. Consider că acest loc e frumos iar în aceste două luni voi încerca să descopăr cât mai multe locuri posibil. De asemenea sper că voi deveni mai deschisă și îmi voi face mai multe amintiri.
Laura este în România pentru o perioadă de două luni, din iulie până în august 2018, în cadrul proiectului Community Volunteers 18/19 [2018-1-LV02-KA105-002120] proiect co-finanțat de Uniunea Europeană prin Programul Erasmus+ și implementat în România de către Curba de Cultură.

Bună ziua, Hello everybody !
I am Baptiste, new volunteer in Curba de Cultura, freshly arrived in this beautiful setting that is the region of Prahova.
I am 29 years old and I come from a small town in the north of Paris, I also lived in the north for my studies but also in the south and in the Alpes for work.
I graduated from a master of anthropology that I validated in Peru, coutry in which I lived for 3 years and in wich I went back to travel, Latin America is a continent that fascinates me.
I think I am open minded, frank and open to the others, I love the human and what he brings to me everyday. I also love children very much, their innocence and seeing them happy. I like to tell myself that they are the future. I had the opportunity to do a volunteering of 6 month in Peru with childrens and since the urge to restart a project of the genre never left me. It is for this reason that when the opportunity to realize an EVS with Curba de Cultura presented itself to me, it is without any hesitation that I jumped on this chance.
Romania is a country that I have always wanted to discover, its culture, its inhabitants, its landscapes, so it is a dream that become reality by coming here. I love travels, the meetings, the discovery of new cultures that enrich me spiritually. I also love the nature, the calm and the serenity that it brings to me.
For all these reasons, what better place than Izvoarele to accomplish me fully by providing valuable help through the tremendous work done by Curba de Cultura.
Eu sunt Baptiste, voluntar nou la Curba de Cultură și tocmai ce am ajuns în acest loc minunat din județul Prahova. Am 29 de ani și vin dintr-un mic oraș de la nord de Paris. Am locuit în nordul Franței cât timp am studiat și în sud, în Alpi când am lucrat.
Am absolvit un master in antropologie în Peru, unde am locuit de altfel încă 3 ani și unde m-am întors pentru a călători, America Latină mă fascinează.
Consider că sunt deschis la minte și direct. Iubesc oamenii și tot ceea ce aceștia îmi oferă. Îmi plac copii și să îi văd fericiți, deoarece ei sunt viitorul nostru. Am avut ocazia de a face 6 luni de voluntariat cu copii in Peru iar de atunci nevoia unui proiect similar nu m-a mai părăsit. Acesta este și motivul pentru care am ales acest proiect la Curba de Cultură, când mi s-a oferit ocazia.
România este o țară pe care am dorit dintotdeauna să o descopăr, să îi descopăr cultural, locuitorii, peisajele, prin urmare sosirea mea aici este un vis devenit realitate. Iubesc să călătoresc, să întâlnesc oameni și să descopăr culturi care mă îmbogățesc spiritual. De asemenea iubesc natura cu calmul și liniștea pe care mi-o aduce.
Pentru toate acestea ce alt loc mai bun există, decât Izvoarele, pentru a mă simți împlinit și a aduce ajutor valoros muncii pe care curba de Cultură o desfășoară?

Po taught me „each one teach one “. Everyone on earth has something to show you that you never seen, something to tell you that you never heard, something to teach you that you never learned. So yes, this is me kind of …. My name is Raimo, I am 24 years old and come from a small place in middle Estonia called Võhma. There is not much that I know about myself, but the things I know are that I love adventure drawing , dancing, also I like to play any game any time to kill a bit time and I am always up for a challenge. If somebody would describe me I think main words would be goofy, weird and really clumsy.
From my education officially I am builder or something to do with a construction not quite sure [honestly I forgotten the most that I learned already]. About 4 years ago I discovered breakdancing and ever since I had on and off relation with it. In this project I hope to spread a bit knowledge about ecological and sustainable lifestyle {permaculture] and if possible teach some breakdancing.
Am fost învățat că fiecare om poate învăța un alt om. Fiecare pe acest pământ poate să îți arate ceva ce nu ai mai văzut, ori să îți spună ceva ce nu ai mai auzit, ori să te învețe ceva ce nu ai știut. Cam ăsta sunt eu… numele meu e Raimo, am 24 de ani și vin dintr-un loc mic din mijlocul Estoniei, numit Võhma. Nu știu prea multe despre mine, dar ce știu e că iubesc să desenez, să dansez și să joc orice joc ce îmi omoară timpul, dar mai ales sunt deschis la orice provocare. Dacă cineva m-ar descrie, cred că principalele caracteristici ar fi haios, ciudat și împiedicat.
Conform educației mele sunt un constructor sau ceva legat de asta, nu sunt chiar sigur [sincer să fiu, am uitat mare parte din ce am învățat]. Acu 4 ani am descoperit breakdancing-ul și de atunci suntem înr-o relație. În acest proiect sper să pot împărtăși cunoștințe despre mediu și un stil de viață sustenabil, și dacă e posibil să îi învăț pe alții breakdancing.
Raimo este în România pentru o perioadă de șapte luni, din mai 2018 până în noiembrie 2018, în cadrul proiectului Building Youth supportive Communities – Environment [2017-2-RO01-KA105-037748] proiect co-finanțat de Uniunea Europeană prin Programul Erasmus+ și implementat în România de către Curba de Cultură.

I’m back! – M-am întors!
I am still here! Yes, it’s already one year since the time I arrived in the nice place of Izvoarele, whereas my EVS project was 9 months. Why? Because I decided and had the opportunity to come back and do further than my EVS.
I returned to France for one month before leaving again to Romania. I had time to see almost everybody and to enjoy time there with my family. Then, the call of the mountains, of the carts with horses, of the papanași and mici but also of Curba’s team and the Romanian culture was stronger. So I came back to start a new adventure… actually, not to start, but to continue the amazing adventure that I started here 🙂 ! Some challenges are waiting for me… and the first one is to improve my Romanian language! Someone wants to help me? Come, I’m ready to have the head mixed of English, French and Romanian languages.
Besides the language, my project is still volunteering – Service Civique – and it’s based on the support of EVS volunteers coming for projects, mostly in schools – what I did before -, to help them to integrate the new environment, to organize events and why not to implement some ideas that I have in my mind. More responsibilities and more tasks, it’s exactly the continuity of my EVS and I’m glad to have these challenges for one more year.

Încă sunt aici! Da, a trecut deja un an de când am ajuns pentru prima dată în Izvoarele, în timp ce proiectul meu era doar de 9 luni. De ce? Pentru că am decis și am avut șansa să mă întorc aici să fac mai multe după SEV.
Am stat în Franța o lună înainte să revin în România. Am avut timp să îmi văd toți cunoscuții și să petrec timp cu familia. Apoi chemarea munților, a căruțelor cu cai, a papanașilor și a micilor, dar mai ales a echipe Curba de Cultură și a culturii românești a fost mai puternică Prin urmare m-am întors să încep o nouă aventură… mai bine zis să continui aventura uimitoare pe care o începusem deja :)! Noi provocări mă așteaptă… și prima dintre ele este limba română! Vrea cineva să îmi dea o mână de ajutor? Sunt pregătită să amestec engleză, franceză și română.
Pe lângă limbi, proiectul meu este tot unul de voluntariat – Serviciul Civil – și reprezintă suport pentru noii voluntari SEV în proiectele lor educaționale – ce făceam eu înainte – și îi ajut să se integreze, să organizeze evenimente și să îți pună în aplicare ideile pe care le au. Mai multe responsabilități, mai multe sarcini, o continuare a SEV-ului. Mă bucură că am parte de aceste provocări pentru încă un an.

Estelle se află în România în perioada martie 2018 – februarie 2019 în cadrul proiectului de Serviciu Civil nr 2018-0010, proiect cofinanțat de statul francez și implementat în România de Curba de Cultură.
Voluntariat international in Germania
Partenerii și colegii noștri de la Kreisjugendwerk de Awo Karlsruhe, din Germania caută o nouă serie de voluntari pentru proiectele pe care le implementează la grădinițe și centre de îngrijire de zi, precum și într-un centru de tineret, din Karlsruhe sau împrejurimi.
Toate proiectele sunt cu durata de 12 luni începând din septembrie sau octombrie 2018.

Fiind proiecte EVS, cheltuielile cu cazarea, utilitățile, mesele, asigurarea medicală, banii de buzunar și transportul local sunt acoperite din grantul proiectului. În plus transportul la începutul și la finalul stagiului este rambursat în limita a 275euro.
Se asigură mentor pentru procesul de învățare și coordonator pentru implementarea activităților.

Aventură de un an în Tenerife!
Partenerul nostru P.O.D. Association, din Spania, caută un tânăr sau o tânără pentru un proiect de voluntariat internațional ce începe în mai 2018 (pentru un an de zile). Voluntarul va organiza activități concentrate pe ce înseamnă un stil de viață sănătos, incluzând aici atât sport și mișcare dar și obiceiuri sănătoase în viața de zi cu zi, nutriție etc. Prin urmare voluntarul va lua parte la planificarea de evenimente și activități, comunicarea și promovarea lor online și offline și va avea și posibilitatea de a-și pune în aplicare propriile idei.
Prin urmare, dacă:
- ai între 18 și 30 de ani
- îți place să înveți și ești curios
- ești activ, lucrezi cu entuziasm și responsabilitate
- ești sociabil și te poți organiza și singur când e cazul
- ești creativ și dornic să îți pui ideile în practică
- înțelegi și vorbești engleză acceptabil
- ești dornic/ă să înveți spaniolă
ești potrivit/ă pentru proiectul nostru de voluntariat.
Partenerii noștri din Spania îți vor asigura cazarea, alocație pentru masă, bani de buzunar și transport local. Pe lângă asta, primești asigurare medicală și rambursarea transportului până acolo și înapoi.
Ce altceva mai primești?
- cunoștințe și abilități de planificare, organizare și implementare de activități educative
- posibilitatea de a-ți transforma ideile în proiecte și de a avea o influență pozitivă
- experiență de muncă în lucrul cu tinerii și organizarea de evenimente
- traiul independent și într-o altă țară
- posibilitatea de a învăța spaniolă și de a-ți extinde cercul de prieteni.

Cumunicat de presă – Eveniment intercultural cu voluntarii SEV și rezultate preliminarii ale proiectului Izvoarele Unveiled

Sâmbătă pe 28 octombrie ne-am adunat la Centrul Cultural pentru a împărtăși cu locuitorii comunei primele rezultate ale muncii voluntarilor în proiectul Izvoarele Unveiled. Pe lângă asta cei mai noi dintre voluntarii găzduiți de Curba de Cultură și-au prezentat țările din care provin și ne-au delectat cu gustări specifice țărilor aferente făcute chiar de ei.
Cea de-a doua seară interculturală din acest an a adunat 8 voluntari SEV, 11 voluntari locali și peste patruzeci de spectatori de toate vârstele. Evenimentul și-a dorit să împărtășească cu oamenii din comuna Izvoarele, care au fost deschiși și au ajutat voluntarii în cercetarea lor despre aceasta, rezultatele de până în momentul respectiv. A fost creată și împărtășită și Harta Izvoarele Unveiled – creată de Alba și Isabella și actualizată cu ajutorul lui Roman și a lui Gabriel.
O altă latură a evenimentului a fost cea interculturală, unde noii voluntari SEV ai Curbei au prezentat prin diverse moduri inventive țările și culturile lor, gătind chiar mâncăruri tradiționale locale.

We are looking for volunteers to unveil the village of Izvoarele
Starting from June 2017 for one year we will host four volunteers from Italy, Spain, Czech Republic and Slovenia for one year. They will do sociological and anthropological research, they will gather information about crafts and arts in the area as well stories and food recipes. All these will be turned into video, photo and written material which we will use to promote the beautiful community of Izvoarele.
The fact that the people in the community are so hospitable made us think that this can be a great opportunity to collect local legends and pieces of history straight from the villagers and to turn them with the help of the international and local volunteers into tools of promoting the community. During this process, not only that the volunteers will have the chance of feeling and living local culture and getting the sense of multiculturalism but they will also get basic competencies in sociological researches and in creating and implementing promotional campaigns and promotional materials.
We are looking for four volunteers willing to work and live for a year in rural Romania, to experience the lifestyle here and to document it. We guarantee an unforgettable experience. What do you need to have?
- to be between 18 and 30 years old
- to be motivated to do international volunteering
- to be strongly motivated to live and work in rural area
- to be interested in learning a different European language
- to be motivated to develop new competencies and to learn about community development
- to have basic English communication skills, spoken and written
