A fi un voluntar interna\u021bional pe termen lung are cu siguran\u021b\u0103 momente provocatoare.
\nAceast\u0103 experien\u021b\u0103 este caracterizat\u0103 de o mul\u021bime de prime ori: prima dat\u0103 fiind \u00een str\u0103in\u0103tate de at\u00e2tea luni; prima dat\u0103 c\u00e2nd tr\u0103iesc pe cont propriu; prima dat\u0103 c\u00e2nd g\u0103tesc \u0219i am grij\u0103 de mine\u2026 \u00een\u021belegi ideea. \u00cen aceast\u0103 c\u0103l\u0103torie, \u00eemi \u00eenfund \u00eencet, dar sigur, picioarele p\u00e2n\u0103 la maturitate. Am avut momente bune \u0219i momente rele. Am f\u0103cut multe gre\u0219eli, dar \u00eenv\u0103\u021b o mul\u021bime de lec\u021bii de via\u021b\u0103. Cel mai important lucru pe care l-am \u00eenv\u0103\u021bat p\u00e2n\u0103 acum este s\u0103 m\u0103 concentrez asupra, s\u0103 \u00eembun\u0103t\u0103\u021besc \u0219i s\u0103 ob\u021bin motiva\u021bie din ceea ce pot controla; \u0219i accept s\u0103 renun\u021b la lucrurile pe care nu le pot controla.
\n\u00cenv\u0103\u021b foarte multe chiar \u0219i din aventurile mele culinare. Pot s\u0103 spun cu m\u00e2ndrie c\u0103 pot face o sup\u0103 bun\u0103 de n\u0103ut \u0219i tiramis\u00f9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hello everyone! My name is Israt and I\u2019ve been here in Romania and doing volunteering with Curba de Cultura for 3 months already. I want to share with all of you what my experience has been so far.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the first month I’ve experienced a lot of cultural shock, but luckily I got over it when I started to meet local people, learn my first Romanian words, and travel by train alone for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first thing that made me feel at home is the traveling that I did so far. Until now I\u2019ve been to M\u0103neciu, Ploie\u0219ti, Bra\u0219ov, Bran, Sinaia, Bucure\u0219ti, Isaccea. My next destination is Craiova and I hope soon I can visit some cities in the north. I\u2019ve taken some time to explore the village where I am currently living, Homoraciu, but I still have a lot to explore and I can\u2019t wait to do so. I have spent countless hours in Maneciu, especially at the lakeside: I have fallen in love with it. Did you know that after 2:30 hours of walking from the Baraj you can reach the small, yet lovely, Cascada Schinda? I totally recommend you to do this walk if you like being surrounded by nature, peace and quietness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nI like to talk with the locals in my neighborhood and those who come to the youth centers and it is a big motivation for me to learn Romanian. Among the locals, there are people I\u2019ve become good friends with and this motivates me to continue to do my best for the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Being a long-term international volunteer definitely has challenging moments.
\nThis experience is characterized by a lot of first times: first time being abroad for so many months; first time living on my own; first time cooking and taking care of myself\u2026 you get the idea. In this journey, I am slowly, but surely, dipping my feet into adulthood. I\u2019ve had good moments and bad moments. I\u2019ve made a lot of mistakes, but I\u2019m learning a lot of life lessons. The most important thing I\u2019ve learned so far is to focus on, improve, and gain motivation from what I can control; and accept to let go of the things that I can\u2019t control.
\nI am learning a lot even from my culinary adventures. I can proudly say that I can make a good chickpeas soup and tiramis\u00f9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
