\"IMG_4485-blog\"\u00a0The European Volunteer Service isn’t only about the project, the house, the other volunteers, the coordinators, the association… it’s also about the mentor. Who? What? When? Where? I will explain you a bit.
\nThe mentor is an outside person of the association who takes care of\u00a0the integration in your new environment and community, the evolution in\u00a0your\u00a0project, but in general he\/she is the personal support during the EVS. You can meet as many time as you want and need during the project, in the association or another place that you decide together. But this is a short description, because in fact, he\/she does more than we expect in terms of personal development and profesional evolution.<\/p>\n

Serviciul European de Voluntariat nu este doar despre proiect, cas\u0103, al\u021bi voluntari, coordonator, asocia\u021bie… este \u0219i despre mentor. Cine? Ce? C\u00e2nd? Unde? V\u0103 voi explica pu\u021bin.<\/p>\n

Mentorul este o persoan\u0103 din afara organiza\u021biei care este responsabil\u0103 pentru integrarea voluntarului \u00een noul mediu \u0219i noua comunitate, pentru evolu\u021bia proiectului, dar in general el\/ea reprezint\u0103 suportpe plan personal de-a lungul SEV. Po\u021bi s\u0103 te \u00eent\u00e2lne\u0219ti cu mentorul de c\u00e2te ori dore\u0219ti, la sediul asocia\u021biei sau \u00een alt loc pe care \u00eel decide\u021bi \u00eempreun\u0103. Dar asta e doar o descriere scurt\u0103, defapt el\/ea face mai mult dec\u00e2t ne-am a\u0219teptat at\u00e2t pentru evolu\u021bia pe plan personal c\u00e2t \u0219i profesional.<\/p>\n

Now, I will explain more about my\u00a0super mentor! Her name is Elena but everybody calls her Tromppy (the reason will stay secret \ud83d\ude09 ).<\/p>\n

I remember exactly our first meeting. I arrived on 10th of April in Romania and the day after I met her in Bra\u0219ov. This day was tiring for many reasons, but it was the beginning of a\u00a0wonderful adventure for me. With Sorin, we left Curba de Cultur\u0103 to reach Bra\u0219ov, a beautiful town 2 hours away from Izvoarele,\u00a0passing through the mountains and beautiful landscapes.\u00a0Then, I met Tromppy and after a welcoming hug, we went to drink a coffee in one of the student’s favorite bar in the town. And we talked, talked and talked with my poor English, searching my words and sentences, to get to know each other. Then, we came back late, and I was trying to don’t fall asleep during the 2 hours back by car. I will not forget this second day in Romania.<\/p>\n

Acum v\u0103 voi spune mai multe despre super-mentorul meu! Numele ei este Elena, dar to\u021bi o strig\u0103 Tromppy (motivul va r\u0103m\u00e2ne secret \ud83d\ude09 )<\/p>\n

\u00cemi amintesc cu exactitate prima noastr\u0103 \u00eent\u00e2lnire. Am sosit pe 10 aprilie \u00een Rom\u00e2nia \u0219i \u00een ziua urm\u0103toare am \u00eent\u00e2lnit-o \u00een Bra\u0219ov. Ziua a fost una obositoare din mai multe motive, dar a fost \u00eenceputul unei aventuri frumoase pentru mine. \u00cempreun\u0103 cu Sorin am plecat de la Curba de Cultur\u0103 spre Bra\u0219ov, un ora\u0219 frumos la dou\u0103 ore distan\u021b\u0103 de Izvoarele, trec\u00e2nd prin mun\u021bi \u0219i peisaje superbe. Apoi am \u00eent\u00e2lnit-o pe Tromppy \u0219i dup\u0103 o \u00eembr\u0103\u021bi\u0219are de bun venit, am mers s\u0103 bem o cafea \u00eentr-unul din barurile studen\u021be\u0219ti din ora\u0219. \u0218i am vorbit, vorbit \u0219i vorbit din nou cu engleza mea s\u0103rac\u0103, c\u0103ut\u00e2ndu-mi constant cuvintele \u0219i propozi\u021biile, pentru a ne cunoa\u0219te mai bine. Apoi, t\u00e2rziu ne-am \u00eentors \u0219i pe drum m-am str\u0103duit s\u0103 nu adorm \u00een cele dou\u0103 ore de drum cu ma\u0219ina. Nu voi uita aceast\u0103 a doua zi \u00een Rom\u00e2nia.
\nAfter this first meeting, we met one or two times per month, in the office or in Bra\u0219ov. Each time, it was\u00a0 about new adventures, feelings, stories that we shared together, during one, two or three hours sometimes. Because, the mentoring isn’t only about myself, it’s a sharing about personal experiences together. And with Tromppy, we have to force ourselves to stop talking at some point, to let time for my housemates. Since June I’m not the only volunteer anymore!
\nWe have a really good feeling, she is my guide and my personal support, and thanks to her I discovered some part of myself that I didn’t know before. But it’s not only a story of talking, it’s also a story of discoveries. We organised some meetings in Bra\u0219ov to visit the town and the areas. We\u00a0were fascinated by the beautiful view of the town and landscapes around, when we hiked mount ” Tampa”. And recently, we visited the center of Brasov, the “Black and White Towers”, from where we discovered another view. In general, when it’s possible, we enjoy to be outside, walking in the park of Schiule\u0219ti, or somewhere else, our\u00a0interest for the nature being common.<\/p>\n

In brief, having a mentor like mine is A-MA-ZING! And I’m very glad that I met her\u00a0during this volunteering, to talk, to laugh, to hug, to discover… Even though my lovely housemates Isabella, Alba, Gabriel and Roman, complain\u00a0because of the time I spend with her for the mentoring. It does not matter, I enjoy each minute :)!
\nDear volunteers, I hope you will meet a mentor who helps you to see further than you expect!<\/p>\n

Dup\u0103 aceast\u0103 prim\u0103 \u00eent\u00e2lnire, ne-am v\u0103zut o dat\u0103 sau de dou\u0103 ori pe lun\u0103, la birou ori \u00een Bra\u0219ov. Fiecare dintre aceste \u00eent\u00e2lniri a fost despre noi aventuri, sentimente, pove\u0219ti pe care le-am \u00eemp\u0103rt\u0103\u0219it de-a lung a una, dou\u0103 sau chiar trei ore c\u00e2teodat\u0103. Deoarece mentoratul nu este doar despre mine este \u0219i despre \u00eemp\u0103rt\u0103\u0219irea experien\u021belor personale. Iar cu Tromppy trebuie s\u0103 ne for\u021b\u0103m s\u0103 ne oprim la un moment dat, s\u0103 l\u0103s\u0103m timp \u0219i pentru colegii mei. \u00cencep\u00e2nd din iunie nu mai sunt singurul voluntar!<\/p>\n

Ne sim\u021bim bine \u00eempreun\u0103, este ghidul \u0219i suportul meu personal \u0219i mul\u021bumit\u0103 ei am descoperit o parte din mine pe care nu o \u0219tiam \u00eenainte. Dar nu este doar o poveste despre vorbit ci \u0219i despre descoperiri. Unele dintre \u00eent\u00e2lniri le-am organizat \u00een Bra\u0219ov pentru a vizita ora\u0219ul \u0219i zona. Am fost fascina\u021bi de aspectul ora\u0219ului \u0219i de peisajul dimprejur c\u00e2md am urcat pe T\u00e2mpa. Recent am vizitat centrul Bra\u0219ovului, Turnul Alb \u0219i Turnul Negru de unde am descoperit o nou\u0103 perspectiv\u0103. \u00cen general, c\u00e2nd e posibil ne bucur\u0103m de timpul petrecut afar\u0103, ne plimb\u0103m prin parcul din Schiule\u0219ti sau altundeva, interesul nostru pentru natur\u0103 fiind comun.<\/p>\n

Pe scurt s\u0103 am un mentor ca ea este UI-MI-TOR! \u0218i sunt foarte fericit\u0103 c\u0103 am \u00eent\u00e2lnit-o \u00een timpul acestui stagiu de voluntariat pentru c\u0103 am cu cine vorbi, r\u00e2de, \u00eembr\u0103\u021bi\u0219a \u0219i descoperi… Chiar dac\u0103 colegii mei dragi Isabella, Alba, Gabriel \u0219i Roman se pl\u00e2ng c\u0103 petrec prea mult timp \u00een \u0219edin\u021bele de mentorat. Nu are importan\u021b\u0103, m\u0103 bucur de fiecare minut :)!<\/p>\n

Dragi voluntari, sper c\u0103 ve\u021bi avea \u0219i voi un mentor care s\u0103 v\u0103 ajute s\u0103 vede\u021bi mai departe dec\u00e2t v\u0103 a\u0219tepta\u021bi!<\/p>\n
