Am visat mult\u0103 vreme s\u0103 voluntariez \u00een Africa \u0219i am citit multe informa\u021bii despre realit\u0103\u021bile acestui continent, Anul \u0103sta a fost mai dificil pentru mine deci s\u0103 colectez \u0219i caut informa\u021bii mi-a adus un fel de pace \u0219i mi-a p\u0103stat speran\u021ba de mai bine. Abia a\u0219teptam o gur\u0103 de aer proasp\u0103t \u00eentr-o nou\u0103 c\u0103l\u0103torie. \u00cemi amintesc furtuna \u201dstai acas\u0103\u201d a izbucnit \u0219i am descoperit c\u0103 f\u0103r\u0103 c\u0103l\u0103torit m\u0103 simt ca un pe\u0219te f\u0103r\u0103 ap\u0103. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acum dou\u0103 luni am primit o invita\u021bie de la Corpul European de Solidaritate s\u0103 voluntariatez \u00een Rom\u00e2nia. La \u00eenceput credeam c\u0103 este o glum\u0103 hazlie. Cum ar trebui s\u0103 pot \u00eempacheta \u00een c\u00e2teva zile, s\u0103-mi p\u0103r\u0103sesc locul de munc\u0103 \u0219i s\u0103 am\u00e2n treburi importante, pentru a merge \u00eentr-o \u021bar\u0103 \u00een care nu am mai fost. Cu toate astea, ideea nu m-a l\u0103sat s\u0103 dorm. Era acolo, b\u00e2z\u00e2ind \u00een mintea mea. Am spus da! De ce nu? \u0218i nu o regret deloc!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Am cunoscut o gr\u0103mad\u0103 de oameni din diferite culturi. De\u0219i fiecare voluntar are propriul proiect aici, am avut \u0219i \u0219ansa de a luncra \u00eempreun\u0103 \u0219i a ne cunoa\u0219te mai bine. Unii dintre ei erau implica\u021bi \u00een renovarea cl\u0103dirii unde Curba de Cultur\u0103 \u00ee\u0219i are sediul principal. Am organizat evenimente, filme \u0219i promovare. Odat\u0103, am organizat o sear\u0103 de film \u00eentr-un s\u0103tuc mic, cu numai 15 locuitori. Am preg\u0103tit o cinema \u00een aer liber cu ecranul pe o dub\u0103. Am fost a\u0219a entuziasma\u021bi \u0219i am aranjat totul \u00een mijlocul nimicului c\u00e2nd, surpriz\u0103! A trebuit s\u0103 \u00eenl\u0103tur\u0103m o parte din scaune pentru a l\u0103sa ni\u0219te fermieri s\u0103 treac\u0103 cu c\u0103ru\u021bele cu cai. Dup\u0103 ce am reamenajat, patru copii timizi din sat au venit s\u0103 vad\u0103 ce se \u00eent\u00e2mple, s\u0103 vad\u0103 filmul. \u00cemi amintesc c\u0103 am fost a\u0219a de fericit\u0103 \u0219i entuziasmat\u0103 pentru ei pentru c\u0103 eu nu am avut parte de astfel de experien\u021be c\u00e2nd eram mic\u0103. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

De-a lungul\ns\u0103pt\u0103m\u00e2nii lucram cu tineri \u0219i copii la Centrul de Tineret. Proiectul pentru care am venit s-a numit Descopr\u0103-\u021bi poten\u021bialul.\nScopul s\u0103u a fost s\u0103 creeze oportunit\u0103\u021bi at\u00e2t pentru tineri c\u00e2t \u0219i pentru cei\nmici. Jocuri, distrac\u021bie,\nintegrare multicultural\u0103, art\u0103 sau activit\u0103\u021bi fizice \u0219i multe altele. Am\n\u00eenv\u0103\u021bat noi abilit\u0103\u021bi sau limbi unii de la al\u021bii. Fiecare voluntar putea\ncontribui cu ceva. Un bun exemplu este ultima lec\u021bie de spaniol\u0103 desf\u0103\u0219urat\u0103\nafar\u0103 de Robertp, sau atelierul de g\u0103tit cu Oana. Am preg\u0103tit \u201dzacusc\u0103\u201d, o\npast\u0103 de legume tradi\u021bional rom\u00e2neasc\u0103 pe care o po\u021bi m\u00e2nca pe p\u00e2ine \u0219i s\u0103\nsim\u021bi doar bucurie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uneori, voluntariatul poate fi dificil, dar \u00een\nacela\u0219i timp aduce mult bine \u00een vie\u021bile altor persoane, mai ales alor noaste.\nCred c\u0103 fiecare dintre noi ar trebui s\u0103 experimenteze asta m\u0103car o dat\u0103 \u00een\nvia\u021b\u0103. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Una dintre experien\u021bele pe care nu le voi uita a fost aceea de a face o coc\u0103 pentru 100 de cl\u0103tite \u0219i 74 de brio\u0219e. Noi eram responsabili cu g\u0103titul tuturor acestora pentru evenimentul de promovare. Ne-am \u00eemp\u0103r\u021bit \u00een echipe de cinci voluntari \u0219i am lucrat pentru acest eveniment festiv. Cei care m\u0103 \u0219tiu sunt con\u0219tien\u021bi c\u0103 m\u0103 ambalez destul de mult \u00een buc\u0103t\u0103rie. C\u00e2nd am primit aceast\u0103 sarcin\u0103 eram destul de \u00eengrijorat\u0103, dar p\u00e2n\u0103 la urm\u0103 am reu\u0219it s\u0103 o facem \u0219i s\u0103 ne \u0219i sim\u021bim bine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

De obicei avem weekendurile libere pentru a\nputea merge s\u0103 c\u0103l\u0103torim \u0219i s\u0103 \u00eenv\u0103\u021b\u0103m despre cultura local\u0103. Sunt a\u0219a\nrecunosc\u0103toare c\u0103 am profitat de acest timp \u00een \u00eentregime. Am vizitat\nBucure\u0219tiul, capitala, \u0219i am \u00eencercat buc\u0103t\u0103ria tradi\u021bional\u0103 rom\u00e2neasc\u0103.\nAlpturi de un alt prieten, am v\u0103zut trei ora\u0219e frumoase \u0219i vechi: Sinaia, Bra\u0219ov\n\u0219i Sibiu, situate printre mun\u021bi. \u00cen timp ce f\u0103ceam autostopul, am g\u0103sit o\ndoamn\u0103 foarte dr\u0103gu\u021b\u0103 care ne-a dus p\u00e2n\u0103 la loca\u021bia noastr\u0103. A fost surprin\u0219i\ns\u0103 afl\u0103m c\u0103 aceasta era italian\u0103, exact ca \u0219i prietenul meu Elia. M-a surpins\n\u0219i num\u0103rul de ur\u0219i din zon\u0103, dar nu m-a speriat \u00eendeajuns \u00eenc\u00e2t s\u0103 nu merg pe\ntraseu \u0219i s\u0103 \u00eencerc  c\u0103\u021b\u0103ratul multi-pitch<\/em> pentru prima dat\u0103 \u00een via\u021ba\nmea. Am putut vedea ora\u0219ul \u0219i mun\u021bii dintr-un punct mai \u00eenalt. Timpul st\u0103 \u00een\nloc c\u00e2nd ai o astfel de priveli\u0219te.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le datorez majoritatea acestor momente deosebite ce mi-au \u00eembog\u0103\u021bit experien\u021ba oamenior minuna\u021bi pe care i-am \u00eent\u00e2lnit. Cu care at\u00e2t g\u0103titul \u00eempreun\u0103 c\u00e2t \u0219i munca cr\u00e2ncen\u0103 au fost experien\u021be extraordinare. Oameni c\u0103rora nu le e fric\u0103 de sentimente sau provoc\u0103ri. Care pot merge cu tine \u00een toiul nop\u021bii la o nunt\u0103 \u00een Rom\u00e2nia pentru a explora cultura mediului local \u0219i a ad\u00e2nci rela\u021biile interan\u021bionale la nun\u021bi tradi\u021bionale. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201dCerul nop\u021bii este foarte limpede aici. M\u0103 duce cu g\u00e2ndul la cas\u0103 \u0219i \u00eemi d\u0103 un sentiment de singur\u0103tate. M\u0103 uit la stele \u0219i m\u0103 simt a\u0219a mic\u0103 \u00een \u00eentregul univers. Dar, \u00een acela\u0219i timp, cu persoanele potrivite l\u00e2ng\u0103 mine, m\u0103 simt at\u00e2t de vie \u0219i sprijinit\u0103 indiferent c\u00e2t de departe de cas\u0103 sunt.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have long dreamed of volunteering in Africa\nand read a lot of information about the reality of this continent. This last\nyear was more difficult to me so gathering information and searching gave me\nsome peace and kept me dreaming about being better. I couldn\u2019t wait for a fresh\nbreath of air while on a new journey. I remember a time when the “stay\nhome” storm broke out and then I discovered that without traveling I feel\nlike a fish without water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two months ago, I got an invitation from the European Justice Corps to volunteer in Romania. At first, I thought it was a funny joke. \u00a0How am I supposed to pack in a few days, leave my job and postpone many important matters, in order to go to a country where I have not been to before. However, the idea of it did not let me sleep. It was there, buzzing in my mind. I said yes! Why not? Well, I do not regret at all! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I met a lot of people from different cultures.\nAlthough, each volunteer has an individual project here, we also got the chance\nto work together and to get to know each other. Some of them were involved in\nthe renovation of the building that would be the future headquarters of the\nCurba de Cultura organization. We organized events, film openings and\npromotions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One time, we organized a movie night in a very\nsmall village, with only 15 inhabitants. We set up a field cinema on the back\nof the van. We were so excited and had everything arranged in the middle of\nnowhere, when.. surprise!  We had to take\naway all the chairs to let some farmers pass with their horses. After\nrearranging four shy children from the village came to see what\u2019s going on, to\nwatch the movie. I remember being so happy and enthusiastic for them because I\ndid not have any of this experiences when I was younger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the week, I was working with children and\nyoungsters at the Youth Center. The project I have come for was called Uncover\nyour Potential. Their purpose was to create opportunities for both young people\nand the youngest. Games, fun, multicultural integration, art or physical\nactivities and many other activities. We learnt new skills or languages from\neach other. Each volunteer could contribute with something. A good example is\nthe last Spanish lesson conducted outdoors by Roberto, or the cooking workshop\nlead by Oana. We prepared \u201cZacusca\u201d, a famous Romanian veggie spread that you\neat with bread and just feel joy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, volunteering can be difficult, but\nat the same time it brings a lot of good to other people’s lives, especially\nour own. I think each of us should experience it at least once in a lifetime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the experiences I will never forget was\nmaking a dough for 100 pancakes and 74 muffins. We were in charge of cooking\nall of these for promotion event. We worked in teams of five volunteers and we\nprepared for this festival event. People who know me are aware that I make\nquite a fuss in the kitchen. When I got the assignment I was all worried but\neventually we managed to do it and to have a good time as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Usually, we have the weekends free to be able to go traveling and learn about the local culture. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am so grateful I took advantage of this time\nfully. I visited Bucharest, the capital, tried traditional Romanian cuisine.\nAlong with another friend, I saw three beautiful old towns: Sinaia, Brasov and\nSibiu situated among the mountains. While hitchhiking, we found a very nice\nwoman who drove us to our location. We were surprised to find out that this\nwoman was Italian exactly like my friend Elia. I was surprised by the number of\nbears in the local area, but it did not scare me enough not to go on the trail\nand try multi-pitch climbing for the first time in my life. I was able to see\nthe city and the mountains from a higher perspective. Time stops when you have\nthat kind of a view. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I owe most of these amazing and enriching moments I experienced here to the wonderful people I met. With whom both cooking meals together or hard work was an extraordinary experience. People who are not afraid of challenges or feelings. Who can go with you in the middle of the night to a wedding in Romania to explore the culture of the local environment and deepen international relations at traditional weddings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe night sky is very clear here. It makes me\nthink about home and gives me a feeling of loneliness. I look at the stars and\nI feel so tiny in the whole universe. But, at the same time, with the right\npeople next to me, I feel so alive and supported no matter how far I am for my\nhome!\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
