Boas! I’m 24 years old, I\u2019m from the lovely Portuguese coastal city of Aveiro, and my name is Tim. You may think that this is not a very Portuguese name, and well, you’re right: my parents immigrated from Germany almost 30 years ago. Besides some travelling and a year of Erasmus exchange in Slovenia, I spent all my life in Portugal. There, I studied chemical engineering, finishing my master degree last year and working (very briefly) as a production engineer.<\/p>\n
But something was missing.<\/p>\n
I felt the weight of not having a concrete aim after leaving the university, and I was unable to build up enough motivation to work in a factory, producing some random goods that neither make people happier nor turn the world into a better place.<\/p>\n
So, when the opportunity arose to be part of an environmental education project at Curba de Cultur\u0103, it didn’t take me long to pack my stuff and move further east than I’ve ever been before.<\/p>\n
Besides some reforestation journeys back home, I have never really volunteered, and the only work with children I have done so far were some gymnastics lessons. So yes, I\u2019m pretty much out of my comfort zone. And that\u2019s great. It means that there is a lot for me to learn.<\/p>\n
I love sports of almost any kind, and I already had the chance to practice a bunch of them, my latest passion being tennis. I’m also fond of everything that involves nature and being outdoor, such as hiking, cycling and gardening.<\/p>\n

Am sim\u021bit ap\u0103sarea faptului c\u0103 nu aveam un scop precis dup\u0103 terminarea facult\u0103\u021bii \u0219i nu eram capabil s\u0103 m\u0103 motivez suficient c\u00e2t s\u0103 lucrez \u00eentr-o fabric\u0103, f\u0103c\u00e2nd ni\u0219te obiecte care nu fac oamenii ferici\u021bi \u0219i nici nu fac lumea mai bun\u0103.<\/p>\n
Prin urmare c\u00e2nd a ap\u0103rut ocazia de a deveni parte a unui proiect de educa\u021bie pentru mediu la Curba de Cultur\u0103, nu mi-a luat mult s\u0103 \u00eemi \u00eempachetez lucrurile \u0219i s\u0103 m\u0103 mut mai la est dec\u00e2t am fost vreodat\u0103.<\/p>\n
\u00cenafar\u0103 de c\u00e2teva ac\u021biuni de \u00eemp\u0103durire, nu am f\u0103cut voluntariat, \u0219i singura munc\u0103 pe care am f\u0103cut-o cu copii au fost orele de gimnastic\u0103. Da, sunt \u00eenafara zonei mele de confort \u0219i asta e minunat. \u0218i mai \u00eenseamn\u0103 c\u0103 exist\u0103 multe pe care pot s\u0103 le \u00eenv\u0103\u021b.<\/p>\n
Iubesc sporturile de orice fel \u0219i am avut \u0219ansa s\u0103 practic c\u00e2teva dintre ele, dar cea mai recent\u0103 pasiune a mea este tenisul. De asemenea orice implic\u0103 natura \u0219i statul afar\u0103 m\u0103 \u00eenc\u00e2nt\u0103, precum drume\u021biile, ciclismul \u0219i gr\u0103din\u0103ritul.<\/p>\n
Tim este \u00een Rom\u00e2nia pentru o perioad\u0103 de \u0219apte luni, din mai 2018 p\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een noiembrie 2018, \u00een cadrul proiectului Building Youth supportive Communities – Environment<\/em>\u00a0[2017-2-RO01-KA105-037748]\u00a0proiect co-finan\u021bat de Uniunea European\u0103 prin Programul Erasmus+ \u0219i implementat \u00een Rom\u00e2nia de c\u0103tre\u00a0Curba de Cultur\u0103.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
